The 7,000 islands, reefs, islets and cays that make up the Caribbean have always been a popular destination for the more affluent tourist, holding a particular appeal with Americans and Canadians. It’s not hard to see why so many people enjoy holidaying in this beautiful part of the world.
The climate is tropical and the region enjoys year-round sunshine. Large, migratory schools of fish, turtles and coral reef formations can all be found in the warm, clear waters of the Caribbean Sea. The excellent weather means that many of the hotels enjoy very high occupancy levels and are able to charge premium rates for bedrooms; £500 – £600 a night is not unusual.
From a developer’s point of view, the authorities are keen to make the most of their natural resources (without wishing to ruin their natural beauty) and are extremely cooperative with developers who share in their vision.
